Lumbar disc herniation pain is usually treated conservatively, and surgery can be considered if the symptoms are serious. 1. Conservative treatment: bed rest during the acute stage of pain, and after the acute stage, the lumbar back muscle function exercise can be carried out, and the lumbar support can be worn to limit the stooping activities. Muscle relaxants (e.g. Eperisone), painkillers (e.g. Ibuprofen) can be used to relieve pain symptoms, and Chinese medicinal preparations such as Panax notoginseng tablets and Yunnan Baiyao can also be used to relieve tendons and activate blood circulation. Physiotherapy such as traction, massage and tuina therapy can also be given. 2. Surgery: If the conservative treatment is ineffective or the symptoms seriously affect the daily life of the workers, surgical treatment can be considered, such as laminectomy nucleus pulposus removal, discoscopy nucleus pulposus removal and percutaneous puncture surgery (nucleus pulposus chemodissolving, cutting and washing surgery and laser surgery). Patients with lumbar disc herniation are recommended to receive regular treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
