What’s wrong with a mild pain in the lungs?

Slight pain in the lungs may be caused by pleurisy, pneumothorax, pneumonia, tuberculosis, bronchopulmonary cancer, pulmonary thromboembolism and shingles. Pleurisy produces pain when it stimulates intercostal nerves and may be accompanied by pleural effusion; pneumothorax and pulmonary thromboembolism cause dyspnea and pins and needles pain; pneumonitis and tuberculosis cause pleural effusion, exudation of inflammation-causing factors, and pain when the chest wall rubs together, which makes the chest pain more pronounced; and pain also occurs when compression, metastasis of cancerous foci, and pain-causing substances stimulate the lungs as a result of lung cancer. The cause of chest pain can be determined according to the location, medical history, nature of pain or other vital signs, and the diagnosis should be made with the help of medical personnel and relevant examinations.
