Inflammation of the pharynx and inflammation of the vocal cords are not the same thing. Inflammation of the pharynx mainly refers to the inflammation of the pharynx and larynx, which is divided into nasopharynx, oropharynx and laryngopharynx. Nasopharynx is located at the back of the posterior nasal aperture, oropharynx is the pharyngeal range we usually see when we open our mouths, and the laryngopharynx is located in the oropharyngeal area below the oropharynx and above the mouth of the esophagus, and the larynx is located in the lower pharynx, which includes the vocal folds, the cricoarytenoid joints, phial folds, and epiglottis, etc. Usually laryngitis refers to the inflammation of the pharynx and the larynx as a whole, and the main symptoms are foreign body sensation in the pharynx, pain sensation, dryness of the pharynx, etc., while vocal cord inflammation mainly refers to the inflammation that is more confined to the vocal cords, and there are mainly symptoms such as hoarseness of the voice and coughing. Pharyngitis may be accompanied by inflammation of the vocal cords, while inflammation of the vocal cords may also be accompanied by inflammation of the pharynx, but because the inflammation of the different parts of the symptoms are different, so the two are not the same.
