“dpp-4 inhibitors”, or DPP-4 inhibitors, also known as dipeptidyl peptidase IV inhibitors, work by increasing the responsiveness of pancreatic β-cells to glucose, promoting insulin biosynthesis and release, and inhibiting pancreatic α-cells’ secretion of glucagon as insulin levels rise. The DPP-4 inhibitors currently available in China include five drugs, including selegiline, saxagliptin, vigliptin, riligiline and alogliptin, which can be used for hypoglycemic treatment of diabetic patients, and it is recommended to consult a professional physician for their use. These drugs can be used alone or in combination with other oral hypoglycemic agents or insulin for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. During the use of the drug, pay attention to the presence of headache, liver enzyme elevation and other adverse reactions, pregnant women, children, diabetic ketoacidosis, etc. Use with caution. If you need to take DPP-IV inhibitors, it is recommended to use it under the guidance of a professional doctor in a regular hospital to avoid unauthorized use.
