Acupuncture and moxibustion at Taichong acupoint

Acupuncture at Taichong point is usually done by straight stabbing, but moxibustion can also be performed.
Tai Chong is located on the dorsum of the foot, in the depression before the union of the first and second metatarsal bones, and belongs to the foot syncopal liver meridian. When taking the point, the patient should be in a sitting or supine position. Acupuncture at this point is performed by direct stabbing, and moxibustion can also be performed.
This point is the transmission point and original point of the liver meridian, and it is mainly used to treat headache, dizziness, insomnia, epilepsy, and eye redness and swelling pain. Clinically, it can be paired with Hegu to treat headache and dizziness; with Ashigaru Sanli and Zhongfeng to treat difficulty in walking; and with Qihai and Qiuqi Pulse to treat hernia.
