The main causes of painful lumbar cramps are as follows: 1. lumbar trauma: such as acute lumbar muscle strain or lumbar spine fracture can lead to lumbar cramps with painful symptoms. 2. severe lumbar spinal stenosis: it can cause edema and acute inflammatory reaction of the nerves, and the patient will also experience reflex lumbar pain and cramps, and the range of motion of the lumbar spine will be seriously affected. MRI is able to detect lumbar spinal stenosis. Early diagnosis and early treatment can lead to significant improvement of clinical symptoms of lumbar cramping pain. If treatment is delayed, patients may experience severe limitation of lumbar spine movement, limb weakness, and severe impairment of limb weight-bearing walking function, affecting patients’ daily life, work, and even sports.
