Can amlodipine benzenesulfonate cause neck pain?

Amlodipine besylate does not usually cause neck pain. If a patient experiences neck pain while on the medication, it may be accompanied by cervical spondylosis, a fallen pillow, or a strained neck. Amlodipine besylate is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker, which is mainly used in the treatment of hypertension and coronary heart disease. The most common adverse effects are headache and edema, and there is no side effect of muscle or bone pain, therefore, amlodipine besylate does not usually cause neck pain. It is important to note that some specific adverse reactions may occur in patients with underlying medical conditions while on the drug. In patients with severe aortic stenosis, possible symptomatic hypotension may occur during dosing. In patients with severe obstructive coronary artery disease, worsening of angina or occurrence of acute myocardial infarction may occur when use is first initiated or when the dose is increased. In patients with impaired hepatic function, because amlodipine benzenesulfonate is mainly metabolized by the liver, amlodipine benzenesulfonate should be used in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency in slow increments until satisfactory efficacy is achieved. Use of the drug should be under medical supervision.
