The wall of the uterus is not the endometrium. The myometrium is the wall of the uterus, not the endometrium. The endometrium changes with the ovarian cyclic secretion of estrogen and progesterone, and the functional layer sheds cyclically under the action of estrogen and progesterone, which is clinically manifested as menstruation, while the wall of the uterus, that is, the myometrium, does not show cyclic changes. If lesions occur between the myometrium layers, they can also lead to corresponding clinical symptoms, such as the development of endometriosis, where ectopic in the myometrium layer can lead to dysmenorrhea and can result in an enlarged uterus.
