A denture is what is commonly known as a prosthetic tooth. If a tooth is missing, a denture can be made in the prosthodontics department to restore the integrity of the tooth and a good biting relationship so as not to affect the patient’s chewing function. The most common types of dentures are fixed and removable dentures, both of which have a wide range of applications and have their own advantages and disadvantages. In general, fixed dentures have the advantage of being more comfortable, but they also have many disadvantages, such as the need to wear down healthy neighboring teeth, which is an irritation and damage to the surrounding healthy neighboring teeth, and the relatively high cost. Removable dentures are the most widely used. The biggest disadvantage is that they are less comfortable, but they are more economical and hygienic, and can be removed and cleaned by yourself every day.
