Liver abscesses are divided into unpurulent stage, abscess formation stage, exacerbation stage and absorption stage under ultrasound, and according to different periods, there can be uneven echoes, thickening of cavity wall and other different manifestations. 1. Non-suppurative stage: this stage belongs to the early stage of inflammation, and ultrasonography can show that the abscess has unclear boundaries, uneven echogenicity, and is accompanied by low echogenicity foci; 2. Formation stage: the abscess starts to form in this stage, and the pus wall and pus can be observed under ultrasound, and the pus can show no echogenicity or point-like echogenicity, and at the same time, the inner wall of the pus cavity is rough; 3. Exacerbation stage: at this time, the abscess has been completely formed, the abscess cavity under ultrasound shows bilateral signs, the cavity wall is thickened, showing strong echogenic bands, and hypoechoic shadows of pus; 4. late absorption: this is in the recovery stage of the disease, ultrasound can develop intracavitary patchy shadow, as well as cord-like hypoechoic shadow. The above are the ultrasound manifestations of abscesses in various stages. When a liver abscess is found, it should be treated as early as possible to avoid the development of the disease.
