What’s going on with the lymph nodes that haven’t gone down in 7 or 8 years?

Lymph nodes that have not gone down for seven or eight years may be reactive hyperplasia of lymph nodes caused by inflammation, and there are some patients whose lymph nodes remain enlarged for a long time after the inflammation subsides. If the lymph nodes do not have any obvious changes in size recently and are not accompanied by other symptoms, there is no need to be overly alarmed. Inflammation caused by bacteria, viruses, or immune factors can cause the lymph nodes to enlarge, and the lymph nodes may shrink and subside after the infection subsides. However, there are some patients whose lymph node enlargement does not subside for a long period of time, which is mostly due to the fibrous tissue wrapping around the enlarged lymph nodes when the inflammation subsides. If the lymph nodes are enlarged for a long time, you should go to the hospital for regular checkups and ultrasound examination if necessary. If you find abnormal blood supply or abnormal aspect ratio of lymph nodes, you should complete the relevant tumor markers or pathological examination as soon as possible to clarify whether there are other lesions.
