The clinical manifestation of coughing upon wheezing is considered to be an airway hyperresponsiveness, and it is recommended to improve pulmonary function, bronchodilator test, and allergen testing. If the patient is diagnosed with airway hyperresponsiveness, oral leukotriene modulators such as montelukast sodium and inhaled glucocorticoids such as Symbicort or Sulforaphane are recommended, as well as avoidance of allergenic substances such as animal fur or pollen. Some pathogenic infections can also induce airway hyperresponsiveness, such as bacteria, viruses, atypical pathogens, etc. Therefore, routine blood tests, C-reactive protein, mycoplasma antibodies and other relevant tests should be completed to assess whether there is pathogenic infection.
