What are the signs and symptoms of epididymitis?

Acute epiglottitis, also known as acute supraglottitis, is an acute inflammatory disease of the otolaryngology, which, if left untreated, can cause laryngeal obstruction and death by asphyxiation. Acute epiglottitis is mainly caused by bacterial infections, but can also occur in combination with viral infections; it can also be related to allergic reactions; foreign bodies in the larynx or trauma can also cause acute epiglottitis. If acute epiglottitis is caused by exposure to allergens (allergens), there is a risk of laryngeal obstruction and death, which is the most dangerous form of acute epiglottitis. If the acute epiglottitis is caused by inflammation, there will be systemic symptoms, such as rapid onset, poor mental health, fever, etc.; and severe throat pain, which is aggravated when swallowing, and slurred speech, but rarely hoarseness. If the epiglottis is extremely swollen it can lead to inspiratory dyspnea or even asphyxia. On examination, there is no obvious congestion in the oropharynx. Since acute epiglottitis can be seriously life-threatening, it needs to be taken seriously. When there is severe throat pain that worsens with swallowing and there is no obvious abnormality on examination of the oropharynx, the throat must be routinely examined.
