Causes and manifestations of cataracts

The pathogenesis of cataracts is not completely clear yet, but factors such as high intensity ultraviolet radiation, aging, physical decline, excessive alcohol consumption, excessive smoking, and high fertility among women can all contribute to the increased incidence of cataracts. Cataracts can develop in both eyes or in both eyes. The symptoms are: painless and progressive vision loss; loss of clarity of vision, especially the small objects; or monocular diplopia and hyperopia. Some elderly people may also experience the phenomenon of rejuvenation, that is, some elderly patients who used to wear presbyopic glasses to read newspapers may be able to read newspapers without wearing presbyopic glasses in the early stage of cataract. This is the phenomenon of rejuvenation. Therefore, don’t be careless at this time, and go to the hospital for examination and diagnosis in time.
