Can oral cancer be cured in its early stages?

Oral cancer can be cured with active treatment at early stage, but at the same time, it has the possibility of metastasis or recurrence.
Cancer that occurs in the oral cavity is mainly squamous cell carcinoma, and oral cancer can be categorized into tongue cancer, lip cancer, gum cancer, buccal mucosa cancer and so on according to the different parts of the mouth.
Oral cancer is usually categorized into stage 1, stage 2, stage 3 and stage 4, early oral cancer usually refers to stage 1 oral cancer, which has better treatment effect and may be cured, while stage 4 oral cancer belongs to the advanced stage of oral cancer, which has poorer treatment effect.
Early stage oral cancer can usually be treated with chemotherapy drugs such as paclitaxel, cisplatin, carboplatin to kill or inhibit the growth of cancer cells, targeted drugs such as cetuximab to treat oncogenic mutations, surgery to remove the lesions, radiation therapy to kill cancer cells and other methods.
