Eyestrain is mostly caused by patients using their eyes for a long period of time at close range, and patients may suffer from vision loss, soreness and swelling of the eyes, and other uncomfortable symptoms.
Eyestrain is usually caused by patients using their eyes for a long period of time in close proximity. When looking at something near, the ciliary muscle inside the patient’s eyeball will contract to produce regulation, which will easily cause spasm of the ciliary muscle after a long period of time, resulting in eyestrain, also known as visual fatigue. Patients may experience vision loss.
Patients with visual fatigue usually feel blurred when looking at distant objects, but it is temporary and can be relieved after resting for a period of time. However, recurrent visual fatigue may promote the formation of myopia, leading to persistent vision loss.
It is recommended that patients with vision loss consult a doctor promptly to assess their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions to choose the appropriate treatment.
