Cystic nodules in the chest are cystic tissue in the breast with an envelope and fluid within the envelope. If the nodule is relatively small, it can be treated without surgery, simply by ultrasound follow-up. If the nodule is large, it can be treated by aspiration, and the extracted fluid will be sent for cytological examination according to the specific nature of the fluid. If the cyst is complex and the fluid inside the cyst is between liquid and solid, the chance of malignancy is low, but further examination or surgical removal is recommended. If there is both fluid and solid tissue within the cyst, this presentation is commonly malignant and requires prompt surgical excision for pathological examination. Cystic nodules alone are not able to determine the exact nature of the disease and further examination is recommended to confirm the diagnosis.
