Have been taking clopidogrel for 3 years with a heart stent, can I now take aspirin

Patients who have been taking clopidogrel for 3 years after cardiac stenting can be switched to aspirin as prescribed for antiplatelet therapy.
Clopidogrel and aspirin are both antiplatelet aggregating drugs that can be used after cardiac interventions to prevent adverse events such as restenosis and in-stent thrombosis.
A double combination of antiplatelet agents, i.e., aspirin with clopidogrel or tegretol, is usually required for 1 year after coronary stent implantation, and after 1 year of admission to the hospital for review of the imaging, if there are no significant abnormalities, then a single antiplatelet agent is sufficient for lifelong medication.
Patients can adjust the antiplatelet drugs during the postoperative course, i.e., change clopidogrel to aspirin or tegretol, but they should change the drugs under the guidance of the doctor, and should not change the drugs blindly on their own, so as not to affect the condition.
