A very hard ear knot in the ear is medically known as cerumen embolism, which is caused by over secretion of cerumen glands, poor cerumen discharge and other factors, and often causes ear pain, ear tightness, tinnitus and vertigo. It can be treated with general treatment and medication.
1. General treatment: For cerumen that is movable, not highly adherent to the ear wall, and not completely blocking the external auditory canal, the patient can use knee forceps or cerumen hooks to remove the cerumen in stages.
2. Medication: For those with poorly movable cerumen, 5% sodium bicarbonate ear drops can be applied to the ear in order to fully soak the external auditory canal, and after softening and diluting the cerumen, it can be flushed out with warm saline.
If you have a very hard cerumen in your ear, you can actively seek medical treatment and avoid blind self-excavation to minimize the occurrence of unnecessary injuries.
