Severe aortic regurgitation, how to treat it

Severe aortic regurgitation is mainly caused by aortic valve insufficiency and can be improved by regular checkups or surgical treatment.
1. Regular checkups: Chronic aortic valve insufficiency with normal left ventricular function can be prevented by regular checkups. Those with severe aortic regurgitation should be reviewed every six months, including clinical symptoms, ultrasound examination of left ventricular size and left ventricular ejection fraction.
2. Surgery: Severe aortic regurgitation can lead to left ventricular enlargement, arrhythmias, and other conditions that should be treated surgically before irreversible left ventricular insufficiency occurs. Primary aortic valve insufficiency is treated with aortic valve replacement; secondary aortic valve insufficiency is treated with aortic valvuloplasty.
Patients with severe regurgitation of the aortic valve should seek prompt medical attention and symptomatic treatment. In daily life, we should pay attention to light diet, eat less spicy and stimulating food, and suggest patients to quit smoking and drinking.
