Patchy shadow in the upper lobe of the left lung is a description of a lung lesion on chest plain film or chest CT. The nature of this lesion may be a disease such as lung inflammation, tuberculosis, or lung tumor.
1. Inflammation of the upper lobe of the left lung: the imaging manifestation is a flaky or patchy high-density shadow with blurred edges.
2. Tuberculosis in the upper lobe of the left lung: the early imaging of the lesion is patchy, nodular or fibrous high-density shadows, and tuberculous cavity and tuberculous destruction of the lung can be seen in the middle and late stages.
3. Lung tumor: the tumor occurring in the bronchus of the upper lobe of the left lung may show obstructive upper lobe bronchitis, and the imaging manifestations are enlarged hilar shadow and patchy high-density shadow in the upper lobe of the left lung.
Patchy shadow in the upper lobe of the left lung may also have other causes, such as interstitial pneumonia, tumors, allergic pneumonitis, pulmonary fungal disease, etc., which can cause lung shadow, and need to be differentiated and diagnosed by relevant examinations. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy.
