The need for staff care during hospitalization for arthroscopic surgery cannot be generalized, and varies from patient to patient depending on the type of surgery. Most patients do not require personal care. Generally after a few hours on the day of surgery, patients can regain the ability to take care of themselves; a small number of patients need family members or caregivers to take care of them, such as shoulder arthroscopy, which requires the use of general anesthesia, and requires specialized care on the day of surgery, and the next day the patient can take care of himself.
