How soon can you drink alcohol with rabies vaccine

The rabies vaccine takes one month to administer if given through the five-shot method. It is not recommended to drink alcohol during the rabies vaccination shot, i.e., do not drink alcohol during the one-month period of vaccination. Drinking large amounts of alcohol can lead to immune imbalances and immune disorders, which can interfere with the rabies vaccine and the production of rabies antibodies. Numerous preventive studies have shown that drinking alcohol during rabies vaccination is detrimental to health. Excessive strenuous exercise is also not recommended, and coffee and strong tea are not favored. Rabies vaccination is safe and most people do not have any adverse reactions. Only a few people may have fever, redness, swelling and hardness at the injection site after vaccination, but these adverse reactions will improve on their own. Alcohol should not be consumed during vaccine application, as it may affect the vaccine to some extent and may induce or aggravate the side effects of the vaccine. Alcohol needs to be metabolized in the body, which may affect other organ functions. The wound should be rinsed with soapy water for 15 minutes and sterilized with iodine before the rabies vaccine is administered. Fever may occur in some recipients within 24 hours after rabies vaccination, which is also due to the reaction to the vaccination and is a normal phenomenon that usually does not require special treatment.
