Is it normal to have a varicocele on the left side of the spermatic cord?

Not normal Left-sided varicocele is a disease whose etiology is not yet fully understood, and is generally considered to be caused by valvular insufficiency of the spermatic vein. Mild varicocele can be treated conservatively, while moderate or severe varicocele needs to be treated by surgery. 1. Mild varicocele: Patients with mild varicocele often have no obvious symptoms, and the spermatic cord can only be touched by hand. Patients can use conservative treatment, such as avoiding tight underwear or strenuous exercise, rest and so on. For more serious patients, electrocoagulation can be performed through microscopic nanowire minimally invasive surgery. 2. Moderate to severe varicocele: If the patient’s left side of the spermatic cord bends more obviously and is accompanied by scrotal swelling and pain, which seriously affects the patient’s life or future fertility, surgical treatment is needed, such as inguinal ligation or retroperitoneal high ligation. Note: Patients with left-sided varicocele are advised to go to regular hospitals immediately for examination and to determine the treatment plan to avoid delaying the condition.
