How long does it take to get the results of glucose tolerance

The result time of glucose tolerance depends on the level of the hospital, the number of people being examined, etc. Normally, the result will be available in 4 hours in secondary hospitals and 6 hours or even longer in tertiary hospitals. Glucose tolerance, or glucose tolerance test, or OGTT, is an important test to screen for gestational diabetes. Generally, pregnant women need to go to the obstetrics department of the hospital around 24-28 weeks for glucose tolerance. The test is done by drawing blood 3 times, i.e. fasting blood, 1 hour after drinking sugar water and 2 hours of blood. If a pregnant woman visits a level 2 hospital, she can get the results in 2-4 hours at the earliest because the number of tests is relatively small. If you visit a tertiary care hospital, it usually takes 6 hours or more because of the large number of people and limited equipment, so we hope you will be patient. Pregnant women must have OGTT at the required gestational week to avoid serious adverse consequences of gestational diabetes to the pregnant woman and the fetus.
