The diagnosis of glaucoma remains one of the most difficult aspects of ophthalmology today, with many people undergoing numerous tests but still unable to reach a definitive conclusion. Doctors are very cautious in diagnosing glaucoma, as misdiagnosing a normal person with glaucoma may cause the patient to take medication for more than a decade or even decades without any gain, while missing the diagnosis of glaucoma may cause irreversible damage to the patient’s visual function due to missed treatment, so doctors will refer to a large number of ancillary tests to diagnose glaucoma. The following is a lecture I gave on how to interpret the various tests for glaucoma and how to correctly diagnose glaucoma.
