How late can a child eat a coin be discharged

It is easy for children to accidentally swallow coins when they are not paying attention when playing, usually they can be discharged in 2-3 days, and the longest time is not more than 5 days. After swallowing the coin, the coin enters the esophagus and stomach through the mouth, gradually enters the small intestine with the food, and finally is discharged through the colon and anus, which usually does not cause obvious damage to the esophagus and gastrointestinal tract and may be discharged in 2-3 days. Some children with slow gastrointestinal tract peristalsis may take 3-4 days, and the longest will not exceed 5 days. It is recommended that the child be fed with a light diet, drink more hot water, and eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. The child can be given an abdominal massage with moderate intensity to keep the stool flowing to promote the rapid discharge of the coin. If a child swallows a coin by mistake for more than 5 days without expulsion, or if abdominal pain or bloating occurs, it is recommended to go to the pediatric department or emergency department of a hospital, take an X-ray to clarify the location of the coin in the body, and carry out treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
