Arthroscopic surgery related matters

Many patients come up and ask questions about arthroscopic surgery, such as hospitalization time and cost, etc. The following is a brief description of arthroscopic surgery. Since arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure, patients recover quickly after surgery. In general, patients are hospitalized for a total of 4-5 days, 2 days before surgery to complete the relevant tests, and 1-2 days after surgery if the patient is in stable condition, they can prepare for discharge. Whether it is the knee or the shoulder joint, you can go down to the floor and go to the bathroom by yourself the same night after surgery, and you can take care of your own life. As for the patient’s concern about the cost, the cost varies depending on the surgery, mainly because of the amount of materials needed to repair the damage during the arthroscopic surgery. However, it is a public hospital run by the state and has a fee schedule. However, according to the cost of many patients who have had surgery in other countries or in other hospitals, the cost of surgery in our hospital is the lowest, probably due to the short hospital stay, the absence of extraneous tests, and other factors. As for the possibility of same day admission, according to the turnover of beds, as we have a fast turnover, there are discharges every day, if the day is early for consultation, especially for out-of-town patients who are ready to be hospitalized, they can be taken care of and admitted on the same day as much as possible. Some patients have not yet had their surgery and are particularly concerned about any after-effects of the surgery. As a surgery, it is to help the patient to solve the problems that exist, if the surgery is not done, then the problems that exist in itself will deteriorate and lead to wear and tear degeneration of the joint or even disease abolition. The purpose of arthroscopic surgery is to correct existing problems, such as patellar dislocation; repair damaged tissues, such as reconstruction after joint ligament injury; and restore its normal function, such as the inability to move the shoulder joint normally after rotator cuff injury. As a physician, the goal of treatment is to restore the patient’s health through the support he or she provides.
