Once brain metastases or other distant metastases occur in gastric cancer, the prognosis is very poor and the death rate is high. In case of early stage gastric cancer, surgical resection and regional lymph node dissection can be given to cure gastric cancer, and surgical treatment is the only possible means to cure gastric cancer. The effect of surgery depends on the stage of gastric cancer, the depth of infiltration and the extent of spread. For patients with early stage gastric cancer without any metastases, surgery can achieve the curative effect without adjuvant chemotherapy. For gastric cancer with brain metastasis, it is considered as advanced gastric cancer and has lost the chance of surgery, but patients can also use chemotherapy or immunotherapy to relieve clinical symptoms, improve survival quality and prolong survival.
