Smoking is not recommended for people with Parkinson’s disease because it can increase the risk of having cardiovascular disease. Parkinson’s disease itself causes patients to suffer from limb tremors, motor delays, dystonia, and postural balance disorders. Patients also tend to aggravate atherosclerosis in the case of smoking, leading to cardiovascular disease and cerebrovascular disease, which can affect the patient’s ability to live, so patients are advised to quit smoking. Smoking also causes a lot of problems, such as easily leading to the patient’s chances of chronic bronchitis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which is not conducive to the patient’s disease and health. Patients with Parkinson’s disease should have a low-salt, low-fat, light diet, eat more nutritious, protein-rich substances, and quit smoking and drinking in their daily lives.
