How to rule out tuberculosis

If you suspect that you have tuberculosis you need to have a chest x-ray and if the chest x-ray suggests shadows in the lungs, a further CT of the chest needs to be given. If the chest CT suggests exudates, plaques, proliferation, nodules, calcifications or cavities, the likelihood of TB infection is very high. If there is cough, sputum and other symptoms need to give sputum examination of antacids, antacids if positive, that is infected with tuberculosis. If it is negative, it can not be completely excluded whether it is infected with tuberculosis. Patients who have the condition can check the T-cell test for tuberculosis infection, if the index is 5-10 times higher than the normal value, it means that the patient has been infected with tuberculosis and may need treatment. At the same time, PPD skin test is given, if the PPD is strongly positive within 72 hours, it means that there may be tuberculosis. In conclusion, if there is a clinical picture of cough, sputum, unexplained weight loss, or even blood in the sputum, hot flashes at night, or night sweats, further investigation of whether tuberculosis is the cause should be done and chest imaging should be given. Patients with sputum can undergo sputum test for antacid bacilli, and if they do not have any symptoms, they can undergo T-cell test for tuberculosis infection to evaluate whether they have tuberculosis.
