Many friends complain that exercise is boring and enthusiasm for exercise is easily reduced. When the enthusiasm for fitness is exhausted, the frequency of going to the gym will be reduced, and the training effect will be greatly reduced. One avoidance of training is likely to be followed by many more. Here are six ways to get better at sticking to your workout routine and maintaining your enthusiasm. Find a partner to train with Finding a training partner to go to the gym with is one of the best ways to stay enthusiastic. Because when you train alone, you may easily decide to give up on a workout, but training with a training partner requires a certain level of responsibility – after all, leaving your best friend alone in the gym can give you a bad conscience. Finding a partner to train with who shares your interests and training goals makes the fitness process more fun and safe. You’ll witness each other’s max weights on the bench press and longest running distances, and this healthy competition allows you to train harder than if you were training alone. In addition, when you’re doing compound movements like squats with heavy weights, your training partner can help you do them more safely and monitor your form. Training while listening to music Repeating monotonous training movements day after day, like a robot mechanically increase or decrease the weight, fitness training is becoming no fun to speak of, and will even encounter training “platform period”. Change your training program often Even if you’re currently using your favorite training program, it won’t always be fun. You certainly can’t avoid boredom and killing your passion for working out by using the same training program for a long period of time. It is advisable to change your training program every few months, and even more so when you hit a “plateau”. This doesn’t mean implementing a completely different program, but in addition to trying some new exercises, even just changing the order of the workouts or going to the gym at a different time of the day will help to improve your workout results. Ensure Adequate Rest and Recovery No matter how energized you are, your body will eventually need to have some time to recover. It is up to you to decide exactly when to schedule your rest periods. Your best bet is to pre-schedule your rest periods on the dates you feel best when you are creating your training program. This will also help you avoid injury and overtraining, as a fatigued, overtrained muscle will not continue to grow. Keep a training diary Everyone is happy to see themselves making progress, whether it’s a promotion in their position or a higher score when playing a game, lifting new weights in the gym can be equally gratifying. If you haven’t kept a training diary to record the little bits of progress you’ve made, it’s not too late to start. You don’t need to keep a strict record of weights used, sets done and reps.
