Depakene, also known as Sodium Valproate Extended-Release Tablets, does not usually cause depressed mood. Neurologic adverse reactions that occur after Sodium Valproate Extended-Release Tablets use are very commonly tremor; common extrapyramidal disorders, coma, somnolence, convulsions, memory disorders, headache, nystagmus, and dizziness; and rare hepatic encephalopathy, reversible Parkinson’s disease, ataxia, sensory abnormalities, and aggravation of convulsions. Mental disorders after the use of sodium valproate extended-release tablets may include confusion, hallucinations, aggressive behavior, agitation, attention disorders, behavioral abnormalities, psychomotor hyperactivity, learning disabilities and so on. Low mood is not mentioned in any of the neurologic and psychiatric-related adverse reactions following the use of Sodium Valproate Extended-Release Tablets, and therefore it does not generally result in low mood. If there is a need to use Sodium Valproate Extended-Release Tablets, it is recommended to use it under the guidance of a doctor, do not blindly take it by yourself.
