Risks of Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is the most important surgery in rhinoplasty nowadays, which is more comprehensive, and it can change the height and shape of the nose by implanting appropriate materials to improve the collapsed nose, crooked nose, traumatized nose, sunrise nose, hump nose, and small nose, and so on. The possible risks of this kind of surgery include postoperative bleeding or hematoma, infection, rejection or exclusion reaction, and unsatisfactory nasal shape, etc. The details are as follows: 1. Postoperative infection: mainly due to lax aseptic operation during rhinoplasty, lax sterilization of instruments, inappropriate postoperative care, or the existence of infection foci in the facial area before the operation; 2. Skin ulceration: most commonly seen after liquid silica gel injection for rhinoplasty or the occurrence of rejection reaction to the artificial material, the Skin infection and ulceration; 3. Rejection reaction: manifested as non-swelling, non-healing incision, yellow liquid outflow, and reddening of the skin after surgery, which is mostly seen in highly sensitive body or poor compatibility of prosthesis; 4. Unsatisfactory nasal shape: manifested as too high or too narrow nose, lack of curvature of frontal-nasal angle, insufficient curve of the nasal body, which appears hard and the final effect is unsatisfactory. Especially after many times of rhinoplasty surgery, the nose is prone to scar hyperplasia, contracture and other phenomena, resulting in problems of nasal shape. Although rhinoplasty is a relatively small plastic surgery, but there are still dangers, so it is recommended that candidates choose a regular hospital for plastic surgery, and follow the doctor’s instructions to take good care of measures, so as not to lead to complications.
