Progressive gastric cancer, i.e., middle and advanced gastric cancer, can be treated with a combination of mainly surgery and postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy usually for 6-8 times. If the disease stage is late, the duration of chemotherapy can be extended appropriately. For those who have not undergone surgery, neoadjuvant chemotherapy is used, and the total course of treatment is about 6-8 times, and surgery is performed after the course of treatment. However, some patients with incomplete surgical resection may have their chemotherapy extended appropriately. Patients with advanced disease may undergo a series of maintenance therapy or complementary chemotherapy, depending on the patient’s physical condition.
