At the age of 50, when menstruation stops for a few months, it may be a normal physiological manifestation of perimenopause, or it may be caused by uterine fibroids, atypical hyperplasia of the endometrium, endometrial cancer and other pathological reasons, which is an abnormal phenomenon and needs to be analyzed specifically.
1. Normal physiological phenomenon: 50-year-old women are in perimenopausal period, the ovaries are in decline, the estrogen and progesterone in the body is in the process of fluctuating decline, and the menstruation will come back after a few months of menopause, which is a normal physiological phenomenon.
2. Uterine fibroids: Uterine fibroids are a kind of benign tumor formed by the proliferation of uterine smooth muscle tissue. Patients may have symptoms such as dysmenorrhea and irregular menstruation.
3. Endometrial lesions: if a 50-year-old woman’s menstruation stops for a few months and comes back again, it may indicate the existence of endometrial lesions, and she needs to do endometrial biopsy to exclude atypical hyperplasia of the endometrium, endometrial carcinoma and other pathologic conditions.
If a 50-year-old woman has menstruation again after several months of menopause, she should go to the hospital in time for examination and treatment after clarifying the cause.
