How long to take antifungal medication for grey nails

Gray nails are a common skin inflammation caused by fungal infection of the nail plate and sub nail tissue. When gray nails are to be treated with oral antifungal medication, there are generally two treatment options, including intermittent shock treatment and continuous treatment. For intermittent impact therapy, oral medication is required for 2-3 months for gray nails occurring on the hands, while for gray nails occurring on the feet, oral medication is required for 3-6 months, while continuous application of antifungal medication is required for 6-8 weeks for gray nails occurring on the hands. However, gray nails on the feet tend to be applied for a significantly longer period of time, with the vast majority of patients requiring 12-16 weeks of oral administration, which can be extended to about 6 months if some patients have very severe gray nails in the toe area. However, it is important to note that oral antifungal medications are an adjunctive treatment in the treatment of gray nails, and topical medications are generally still preferred.
