Indications for surgery for chondrosarcoma

Children with chondrosarcoma usually need to be removed surgically. If the chondrosarcoma grows rapidly and causes painful symptoms or if the chondrosarcoma is compressing the surrounding tissues or blood vessels and nerves, surgery is required to remove the tumor. If the chondroma has affected the development of the limbs and caused deformities in the body, such as knee valgus and knee inversion, it will also need to be removed surgically. The recovery time for children with chondrosarcoma is related to their condition, and in general, children can recover in 2-4 weeks after surgery.
