A patient with a fleshy lump in the anal area along with itching may be due to hemorrhoids. This can be treated by applying medication, such as hemorrhoid cream to reduce swelling and relieve pain in the affected area. Patients can also use warm water, or potassium permanganate solution in a sitz bath to clean the anus after a bowel movement. The presence of fleshy bumps may also indicate that the patient has condyloma acuminatum, which needs to be treated with physical methods, such as electric knife and red light therapy devices. It may be caused by anal polyps or anal papillomas, which need to be surgically removed and the itching in the anal area will gradually disappear after treatment. Patients with itchy bumps on the anus need to be examined promptly and treated for different conditions.
