Do adnexal cysts go away on their own?

Adnexal cysts may go away on their own, depending on whether they are pathological (caused by disease) or physiological (not caused by disease). Physiological cysts usually rupture spontaneously after the end of menstruation, while pathological ones do not disappear on their own. In case of adnexal cysts, patients are advised to go to the hospital 3-7 days after menstruation to have an ultrasound or ultrasound examination of the uterine adnexa. However, if it has not disappeared, it may be a pathological cyst and needs to be treated. The presence of pathological cysts usually requires treatment by means of medication or surgery. Patients still need to take into account their own physical condition and consult with a local more specialized gynecologist, who will develop the appropriate treatment plan based on the specific examination results. If an adnexal cyst of more than 5cm persists, attention should be paid to cyst rupture and torsion. Women should pay attention to personal cleanliness and hygiene, develop good hygiene habits, ensure the supply of nutrition and stay away from various gynecological diseases.
