Cerebral palsy is short for cerebral palsy, which is paralysis caused by a brain disease. The symptoms of cerebral palsy vary from person to person and can be mild or severe. The most common and typical types of cerebral palsy are bilateral lower limb palsy, one side limb palsy, and tetraplegia, which manifest as stiff limbs, elevated muscle tone, inability to stand and walk normally, often accompanied by delayed intellectual development, speech dysfunction, and typical seizures. Other patients may have uncontrollable involuntary movements of the extremities, some may have speech disorders, and may also have unstable walking, limb flaccidity, reduced limb strength with congenital cataracts, and sensory abnormalities. A small number of cerebral palsy patients can show inability to lift their heads and stand on their own. The better the treatment for cerebral palsy starts within six months, rehabilitation training and acupuncture have better effect on cerebral palsy, and mild cerebral palsy can be cured.
