Green, mucousy nasal discharge is usually associated with sinusitis, maxillary sinusitis, and other sinus infections. Systematic evaluation, such as sinus CT and targeted drug sensitivity tests, is needed when the above clinical symptoms are present. Most of these conditions are suggested to be related to infection, and when these symptoms are present, systemic investigations should be performed and targeted treatment should be given. Commonly used treatment options include localized nasal congestion treatment and anti-infective therapy. In patients with recurrent symptoms that are not well controlled, drainage is necessary to clear the local inflammation and better control the patient’s clinical symptoms.
