Monitoring blood glucose just after eating will be high because all the foods eaten are on the glycemic index. After eating the food the sugar will be absorbed and the blood glucose value will rise in about 15 minutes. People who do not have diabetes can determine the degree of blood glucose elevation based on the foods they eat. If the foods are all high in calories and carbohydrates, the glycemic index will rise significantly after consumption. If the food eaten is less sugary, the glycemic index usually rises less significantly or does not rise. Because of the good function of the pancreas, this group of people can secrete insulin to lower the glycemic index, so the blood sugar will drop to the normal state after a period of time, so there is no need to worry too much. If diabetic patients eat foods with high glycemic level, their blood sugar will continue to rise because the pancreas is not functional enough to secrete insulin to lower sugar. For diabetic patients, they should reduce the intake of foods with high sugar content, test their blood sugar regularly, and control their blood sugar to a stable state by taking medication and, if necessary, injecting insulin.
