Hypospadias is a common congenital malformation of the male genitourinary tract, which may be related to genetics, endocrine abnormalities, environment and other factors. Normally, after the 7th week of embryonic life, the wrinkled wall of the urethra gradually fuses into a tube from the proximal urethra to the glans to form the urethra. Due to the underdevelopment of the anterior urethra, it is unable to close completely in the midline from back to front during embryonic development, resulting in the inability of the urethral opening to reach its normal position and the appearance of hypospadias. Some cases of hypospadias may be associated with penile flexion, which is characterized by an ectopic urethral opening, penile curvature, and accumulation of foreskin on the back of the penis, and in severe cases, the inability to urinate standing up. This disease may have a recessive inheritance, if a couple has a child with hypospadias, the other children to be born have a higher probability of having the disease. In case of hypospadias, it is advisable to seek medical attention, follow the doctor’s instructions for relevant tests and manage or treat the condition with the help of the doctor.
