What not to eat with a thickened gallbladder wall

Patients with thickened gallbladder wall generally have no special contraindications to food, and should avoid grease in their daily diet. Thickening of the gallbladder wall is common in patients with chronic cholecystitis. For these patients, the gallbladder’s ability to concentrate bile is impaired due to inflammation that irritates the gallbladder wall. Bile can promote the digestion of fatty foods, so patients with thickened gallbladder wall due to chronic cholecystitis often have indigestion of fatty foods. Therefore, these patients should eat a light diet, avoiding large amounts of fatty foods such as fatty meats and fried foods. There is no need to avoid specific foods in the diet of patients with thickened gallbladder walls. Patients who are found to have thickened gallbladder walls should seek medical attention to identify the cause of the thickened gallbladder walls and then take regular treatment.
