What is the cancer rate of a 7mm nodule in the lung?

Lung nodules of 7mm are clinically known as pulmonary nodules, and most of them are benign nodules, with a cancer rate of less than 5%, which is related to the progression of the disease, comprehensive treatment and other factors. According to the density of nodules on the basis of imaging, pulmonary nodules can be categorized into three types, namely pure ground glass nodules, partially solid nodules and completely solid nodules. Pure ground-glass nodules are nodules in which the lesion does not cover the lung parenchyma, and the bronchioles and blood vessels are recognizable, with a certain possibility of carcinoma. Partially solid nodules have uneven density and are more malignant than pure ground-glass nodules; solid nodules are denser and less malignant than the first two types of nodules. To determine whether a nodule is benign or malignant, it is important to combine the size, nature, and shape of the nodule to make a comprehensive judgment. The nature of the nodule can be determined by biopsy, chest CT and other tests. Most lung nodules are benign and do not cause obvious symptoms or affect survival. Malignant lung nodules, in most cases, usually have a better prognosis after timely and effective treatment. Patients with 7mm nodules in the lungs should consult a doctor for evaluation, judgment and, if necessary, appropriate treatment. At the same time, patients should adjust their mindset to avoid causing mental burden.
