Tonsil surgery takes a few days in the hospital

Tonsil surgery requires hospitalization and is usually performed under general anesthesia and can be discharged in about 7 days.

Tonsil surgery usually refers to tonsillectomy surgery, which requires a 2-day hospital stay before surgery to complete relevant preoperative tests, including routine blood work, coagulation function, and electrocardiogram, etc. The surgical removal of tonsils is feasible when the patient is assessed to have no contraindications to surgery. The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia using low-temperature plasma technology. Postoperatively, patients need to be observed for vital signs and for respiratory distress caused by delayed bleeding and mucosal edema, and active anti-inflammatory and hemostatic treatment, together with nebulized inhalation if necessary. Usually, after the formation of the white film, the patient can be discharged after about 7 days of hospitalization without bleeding and infection. Under normal circumstances, normal diet can be resumed about half a month after surgery.

If the tonsils are frequently inflamed, you can go to the ENT department of a regular hospital in time to get a clear diagnosis and targeted treatment. If inflammation occurs more than 4 times a year, surgical removal can be considered.
