What does 0.7cm of endometrium mean

A woman’s endometrial thickness of 0.7cm represents different things depending on the woman. If the endometrial thickness of 0.7cm is monitored during ovulation, it is a normal endometrial thickness. If a woman of childbearing age has an endometrial thickness of 0.7cm measured just after her menstrual period, or after menopause, she has an excessively thick endometrium. In this case there is a possibility of various diseases such as endometrial tumors, endometrial polyps, and abnormal proliferation of the endometrium. Women of childbearing age are considered to have a thin endometrium if the ultrasound is done before the menstrual period, i.e., when they are about to menstruate, and the endometrial thickness is 0.7 cm. It is important to consider the possibility that the patient may have endocrine disorders or endometrial damage. If the patient’s ultrasound indicates that the endometrium is 0.7cm thick, accompanied by abnormal vaginal bleeding, and the blood HCG and urine pregnancy test show that the patient is pregnant, then the possibility of ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage should be considered.
