Can you poop with a urinary catheter?

A urinary catheter is inserted into the urethra and does not block the anus and thus interfere with bowel movements. A catheter is a tube that is inserted into the urethra to drain urine. The catheter is inserted into the urethra, into the bladder, and a syringe is used to inject air or saline into the catheter to increase the volume of the bladder at the head end, so that the catheter becomes stuck in the bladder and cannot be easily dislodged, and then a drainage tube is connected to a bag to collect the urine. The stool is discharged from the anus, which is a different pathway from the urethra for urination. The insertion of a urinary catheter into the urethra will not affect the discharge of stool, and those who need to be completely bedridden can use the bedpan to defecate, and those who can get out of bed and move around can carry a bag of urine to defecate in the toilet after insertion of the urinary catheter.
