Acne marks are spots or scars left behind by acne, which belong to the body’s repair response to the damage of skin tissues. The basic etiology of acne can be caused by acne, and secondly by gender, heredity, severity of acne and treatment effects. 1. Basic etiology: Acne is a chronic inflammatory disease of the sebaceous gland unit of the hair, mainly caused by androgen stimulation secondary to excessive sebaceous gland secretion, hair follicle blockage caused by follicle abnormality keratinization, and propagation of Propionibacterium acnes. Acne scarring is the body’s repair response to tissue production. When acne inflammatory damage is deep into the dermis or extensive epidermal damage, the epidermis in the area cannot regenerate and will be replaced by dermal fibroblasts and collagen, etc. to heal with scarring (i.e., acne marks). 2. Risk factors: secondary research shows that the incidence of acne scarring is greater in male patients than in female patients; in addition, patients with similar acne scarring in the family have a higher incidence; the more severe the acne, the greater the likelihood of scarring; acne is more likely to leave behind a more severe hyperpigmentation if no attention is paid to sunscreen after the acne has healed. Patients who wish to treat acne scars should pay attention to timely consultation and treatment in regular hospitals to avoid aggravation of acne scars and affecting skin aesthetics.
